alexc1ted asked: how many 953 steel bikes have you built? I may be a bit behind on this..but reading up on that material I couldn't really find out a lot of info.is there much of a change from 853?
I’m just finishing my second 953 frame. There’s not too much information out there, but I can tell you that it’s *hard* and takes a lot of time to cut. It also requires you to be a lot cleaner in your welding/brazing process. I’ve never used 853, but it should be similar to some of the high-end Columbus and Reynolds tubes I’ve used before - they’re all quite a bit easier to cut than 953.
